about Sermeq

Claude Michels gained his first musical experiences as a singer with "pig plague", a 3-man Wave/Electronic Punk project. After the end of this formation in the year 2003 Claude began to produce his own tracks, at first with rather poor material. Gradually however he invested, particularly into software instruments, so that ever more ideas could be carried out. In December 2004 Claude published, under the alias (DJ) Sermeq, a first album with the title "Smoke_Over_Ground". The 8 pieces, predominantly instrumental-aluminium-electronical, are coined/shaped by numerous 80's influences. For the sound refinement (mastering) Sam Wirtz took the responsibility. Further titles of (DJ) Sermeq, a remix of the Depeche Mode classic "The Policy OF Truth", were published on various Compilations (More Songs For Life, Queesch CD, Grand Duchy Grooves).

At the beginning of the year 2005 Claude received assistance of André Wagner (guitarist of Sonic Attack) as well as of Anna Geisen at the Synthesizer and at various effects. Thus the 3-people formation "Sermeq" developed. After some gigs in the "Shiny's Café", as well as in Luxembourg city on various Elektro-festivals (Electro vs. Acoustic in the Café Urban, Vitrin Sonore in the Café Interview).

At the beginning of of 2006, a new guitarist Marc Unsen joined Sermeq. Additionnaly some guest musicians have been participating (Arlette M. at the saxophone, Unki at the Didgeridoo).
